Recently, someone asked me to recommend them a good e-reader app for Android. Even though I waste most of my free time with them, I couldn't come up with one on the spot. So I blurted out the one I use right now, without thinking whether that person would like it or not. Since it's been bugging me ever since I compiled a list of apps that I used over time. Hope you like one of them.

 PocketBook (free)

First up is the Pocket Book. You can download this for free on the play store. This e-reader supports PDF, Epub, Mobi, Docx and some other formats. The best thing about this is it's Wired but extremely convenient menu. It's compact, clean and comfortable to use.  You can pinch in and out to change the text size. It's like zooming in and out of an image you can decide the size by the preview. There's also a shortcut to change the screen brightness by sliding up and down the left side of the screen. Most of the apps have this feature but in this, you can reduce the brightness to nothing. That and the night mood is very useful when reading in the dark. PocketBook also has Adobe DRM so you can read protected books(like books from NetGally),

This app doesn't have bookmarks though it remembers the place you read last, so it isn't that much of a problem. Sometimes images go out of bound. And there're some minor bugs, but it's okay for the most part

UB Reader (free)

I found this is to be helpful in managing book library on the device. Other than that, it's light and loads and operates faster. In UB Reader all the necessary options are close by too so, you don't have to search for them in the big menu while you read. So it's very convenient. UB reader also has three reading modes, which you can customize.

Cool Reader (free)

This reader supports almost all of the book formats. The design is bit old looking, but it's simple and very convenient. This app offers lots of customizations. You have about 20+ background textures, and you can change it to a color of your choosing as well. There also a brightness control shortcut  For all the features this app is very light and doesn't take many resources. Only bad thing about this is that it doesn't support external SD card. You have to store your books inside the device memory.

FB Reader (free)

FB reader has a slick interface. It has a fullscreen view that most other readers don't have. It has a toggle button to change reading mode, which is very useful. Other than that, pause menu has page navigation and search. There's also left side brightness control. For the bad things, This doesn't have a thumbnail library you have to download a plugin for that or upgrade the app. Also, there's an overlay on images which makes the image very unclear. However, the look and feel make up for it.

I have used some other apps like moon+ reader they weren't that convenient. Hope you like the post and wish you would comment and share this.
