Your Lie in April, also known as "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso" is a manga by Naoshi Arakawa. This also has an anime adaptation. I think people will go for that rather than reading the manga but the story is pretty much the same. Either way, there's a chance that you might even hate me for recommending this but trust me you'll also be glad that you read it. There is so much emotion in this. It'll probably spill out of your eyes. Your Lie in April won the award for the Best Shounen Manga at the 37th Kodansha Manga Awards and It's even getting a live action movie on this September. That should say something right?
Story
The story is about Piano prodigy called Kousei Arima. After losing his mother, he suddenly stopped playing the piano due to a hearing impediment. His condition seems emotional since the only thing he can't hear is his playing. Despite his childhood friend Tsubaki's efforts to cheer him up, he can't seems to come out of his depressed state. One day Tsubaki bullies him into helping her with her efforts to introduce one of her friends to Watari (Arima's other close friend). Arima is to act as a buffer.on the appointed day Arima arrives early to finds a beautiful girl playing a Melodica surrounded by kids. Arima's world starts to change the moment he saw her.
But as it happens the girl turns out to be Kaori Miyazono the one they were there to meet. Kaori and Watari seem to get along leaving Arima in an awkward situation but her a liberal music and overwhelming personality seem to drag Kousei out of his shell kicking and screaming. Kaori is also a musician, a violinist to be exact. She forcefully appoints Kousei as her piano accompanist for a competition. From there onwards it becomes a swirl of emotion and drama.
Art
Art is pretty good, clean and simple. There isn't clutter and the lines are clean and precise. Human figures and poses look realistic and the faces are pretty distinctive too. You can tell them apart even if the characters changed their hairstyles. Art in anime is better, animation too looked realistic.
I'm pretty sure most people will love this. So check it out you won't regret it. I'll add the trailers to both anime and the live action movie.
